Detiblue Custom Size Rocking Chair Cushion Set Review
A look at the Detiblue Custom Size rocking chair cushion set on two different chairs, plus the 48-hour expansion wait nobody warns you about.
The Detiblue Custom Size rocking chair cushion set is worth buying if your chair is an odd size and nothing off the shelf fits. Sizes run from 10 to 100 inches with 12 thickness options, and the tufted construction plus ties and gripper pad keep it from sliding. Buy it, but plan for the 48 hour expansion.

They Arrive Flat. Really Flat.
The cushions came completely compressed down inside a bag. That’s the important thing for you to know before anything else, because if you open that bag expecting a plump cushion you are going to be disappointed for two days. I left mine out for about 48 hours and that allowed them to fully expand into the beautiful cushion you’re expecting.
So don’t order these for a Saturday porch party on Friday. Plan ahead. Once they expanded I wanted to show you up close how nice and dense the foam is, and it does get there, it just needs the time. You can see the Detiblue Custom Size cushion set on Amazon if you want to look at the fabric options while you decide.
Two Chairs, Two Very Different Looks
The same set reads completely differently depending on where it lands. On the patio rocker it looks like serious outdoor seating; on the indoor wooden rocker it looks like upholstered furniture. That gap matters when you’re picking fabric and thickness, because what works on a covered porch can feel visually heavy in a living room.
Outside, on the patio rocker, the cushion reads as a proper outdoor seat. It fills the frame of the chair and the thickness changes how the whole chair sits. Inside, on the wooden rocker, the same set reads softer and more decorative, more like a piece of furniture than a cushion dropped on top of one. Seeing it in both places gives you a really good idea of the overall size and appearance before you commit to measurements.
The seat cushion went on first. Then the back. Both pieces are separate because most rocking chairs don’t have a back and a seat that match in proportion, so this flexibility matters.
The Gripper Pad and the Velcro Strap Do the Real Work
The seat cushion has a gripper pad on the underside, and that is really essential because it keeps the seat cushion from moving around on you. A rocking chair is the worst possible place for a cushion that slides. You get up, you sit down, the chair moves under you, and a plain cushion walks right off the front edge.
The Velcro strap on the back cushion is the detail that makes this work on chairs with unusual back construction. You feed it between the slats or wrap the entire back rail, whatever your chair’s geometry requires, instead of hoping the ties alone hold a moving cushion in place. You don’t have to worry about the configuration of the back of your rocking chair. You can simply feed it between the wood slats, or if I wanted to, I could put it all the way on the outside and wrap the whole back. That is a nice way of keeping it in place no matter how your chair is built.
There are ties on both pieces too, which gives you really good added stability so you don’t have to worry about them sliding off. Between the ties, the strap, and the gripper backing, there are three separate things holding this cushion where you put it. That’s more than most cushions give you.
And the whole thing is tufted. You can see each of those little sections divided up across the surface. The tufting isn’t just decoration. It helps keep the filling in place so the cushion doesn’t end up thick on one side and flat where you actually sit, and it gives it that nice cushioned look that holds up over time.
What You Get for a Custom Rocking Chair Cushion
Sizes range from 10 to 100 inches with 12 thickness options, plus custom shapes, the real value here is fit, not foam fill. You send dimension drawings and they confirm within 24 hours.
Compare that to buying a standard cushion that’s close enough. Close enough on a rocking chair means a cushion hanging over the front lip or leaving two inches of bare wood on each side. If your chair is an antique, a handmade piece, or anything that isn’t a mass-produced porch rocker, standard sizing was never going to work for you.
Worth knowing on timing: the price on this set is sitting well below where it’s been over the last three months, close to the lowest it’s been tracked at. Sales have also slowed compared to its 90 day average, which is often what pulls a price down like this. The current number is on the product page on Amazon, and that’s the only place it’ll be right.
Where This Set Isn’t the Answer
The covers are indoor fabrics, and that’s the limit. Chenier XNE, indoor linen, Alita. They’re described as soft, skin friendly, wear-resistant and durable, and the fill does include a waterproof fabric component that meets 16 CFR Part 1640 and CA TB117-2013. But a covered porch is not the same as a chair that sits in full sun and rain all summer. Mine went on a patio rocker, under cover.
The other thing is that custom means custom. If you measure wrong, you own a cushion that fits nothing. There’s no grabbing a different size off a shelf. That 24 hour dimension confirmation exists for a reason, so use it.
Living With Them After the First Week
Ironing is cover-only and low heat. The care guidance is to use low-temperature ironing on the empty cover, which means the cover comes off, and that’s the thing to confirm for your fabric choice before you order. Gentle low heat can also help the uncovered foam expand if your set is slow to recover out of the bag.
There’s a handle on the side of the cushion that makes moving a thick seat cushion in and out of the house for weather much easier. It makes daily moving easy. The whole product is CA65 tested.
The tufting is what I expect to matter in a year. Cushions that fail usually fail by migrating, with all the fill shoved to the edges. The divided sections are built against exactly that.
Measure Before You Order Anything
Measure the seat width and depth at the widest point, then measure the back separately. They’re two pieces and they are almost never the same proportion on a rocking chair. Then pick your thickness. 1.2 inches is a thin pad. 8 inches changes how high you sit and how the chair rocks.
On fabric, you can pick from existing printing designs or send a 300 DPI photo and have your own made. Seasonal patterns exist if that’s your thing. I’d pick based on the room first and the season second, because a Christmas print on a porch rocker in July is a short-lived decision.

If your rocking chair is an antique, a handmade piece, or anything outside standard porch-rocker dimensions, this is the only cushion system I’ve found that actually solves the fit problem rather than approximating it. Measure carefully, use the 24-hour confirmation window, and budget two days for expansion. After that, it’s done.
Frequently Asked Questions
Can these stay outside year-round?
No, treat them as covered-porch cushions and bring them in. The cover fabrics are indoor materials like chenille and indoor linen, fade-resistant but not built for constant sun and rain. The side handle makes hauling them in before a storm quick.
What happens if my measurements are slightly off?
You submit dimension drawings and they confirm back within 24 hours, so that window is your chance to catch an error. Use it. Custom pieces aren’t standard-size swaps, so get the confirmation right before production starts.
Will these work on a glider or a porch swing instead of a rocker?
Likely yes, since sizing runs from 10 to 100 inches and irregular shapes are supported. The ties and Velcro back strap aren’t rocker-specific, they just need something to attach to. Send your dimensions and let them confirm the shape.
Can I wash the covers?
The stated care is low-temperature ironing on the empty cover, which means the cover comes off the foam. Washing instructions depend on the fabric you choose, so confirm with the seller for your specific cover before you order.
