Quick Verdict
Nobody walking up on my porch would guess these are fake flowers unless they touched them. The little bit of movement in the breeze is what sold me. Two trailing stems, fuchsia and white, and I couldn’t wait to move them to my front porch.

Would You Believe These Are Fake Flowers?
If you were sitting out here on my porch, I don’t think you’d believe these are fake flowers. That’s the reaction I keep coming back to. I’ve got quite a few different types of artificial flowers around here, and these faux petunias are the ones that stopped me. Spectacular. That’s the first word that came to mind.
I want to thank the brand for sending these over to try out and share with you. They’re a really bright fuchsia pink, with a purple tone mixed in and some white. Trailing flowers, the kind that spill and cascade. And I would have never guessed, if I just walked up on them, that they weren’t real.
What Comes in the Box
You get two stems of trailing faux petunias in fuchsia and white. That’s the set. Two completely separate stems, which matters more than you’d think, and I’ll get to why in a minute. They’re made from real silk fabric and built to live outside, so the material is UV-resistant and meant to be fade-resistant in sun and rain. No watering, no pruning, no upkeep at all.
Here are the details worth knowing before you buy.
The Breeze Test Is What Sold Me
The thing that fooled me wasn’t the color or the silk texture, it was the movement. I dropped them into a pot I had sitting out and just watched. When even a little wind came through, the trailing petals shifted exactly the way live blooms would. Most artificial flowers are static, and that stillness is what gives them away. These don’t have that problem.
I set them in the pot with nothing else in it just to show the shape. They spill and trail the way you’d want a hanging or cascading flower to. Put them near your front door or over a railing and they read as a real garden from a few feet away. I love everything about them, and I couldn’t wait to move mine to the front porch.
You’ll Need to Anchor Them Yourself
The one thing to know: they don’t come with anything to weigh them down in a pot. When I set them in, the pot was empty, and I knew right away I’d have to fix that. My plan is to add some rock in the bottom, maybe a little dirt too, to give the stems something to anchor to. Not a deal-breaker, but if you’re expecting to pull them out of the box and have them stay put in a big planter, that’s not quite how it works.
The stems also have no wire in them. You can move them around a bit and arrange them however you like, which is nice, but don’t expect them to hold a sculpted pose the way a wired stem would. You’re arranging, not bending them into place permanently.

Two Stems, So You’ve Got Options
You get two completely different stems, and that opens up how you use them. If you have smaller pots, you could easily split them and put one in each. I like having both in a single pot just because it makes the arrangement really, really full. That’s my personal preference. But the flexibility is there if you’d rather spread the color across two spots.
Front door entries, porch ceilings, patio planters, yard urns, baskets, balcony railings. Anywhere you want cascading color without the maintenance, these fit. And because they’re UV protected, they’ll hold their color outside where a lot of fake flowers give up after one summer.
Who These Faux Petunias Are For
The people who need these most are the ones who’ve already killed three hanging baskets this summer. Renters who can’t touch the soil, anyone who forgets to water until it’s too late, anyone who’s watched real petunias crisp up by August. These give you the full trailing, cascading look of a well-kept porch planter without a single trip to the hose.
You can use them indoors too, but the UV and fade resistance is the whole reason to pick these over cheaper faux flowers, and that investment pays off outside, where most silk flowers are dead-looking by their second summer. If your porch or patio is where you want the color, these are the ones to get.
My Advice Before You Buy
Have your filler ready before they arrive. Grab a bag of rock, and maybe a little dirt, so you can anchor the stems the day they show up instead of watching them tip over in an empty pot. That one step is the difference between looking finished and looking like you’re still working on it.
Take a minute to arrange the stems once they’re in. Fan them out, let the trailing ends spill over the pot edge, and separate the two stems a bit so it looks full instead of clumped. And if you want the fullest possible display, keep both in one pot the way I did rather than splitting them.
Pros
- Look convincingly real, even walking right up on them
- Move naturally in the breeze the way live flowers do
- UV-resistant and fade-resistant for outdoor use
- Zero maintenance, no watering or pruning
- Two separate stems for flexible arranging
Cons
- Nothing included to anchor them, you’ll need rock or dirt
- No wire in the stems, so they won’t hold a sculpted pose
Frequently Asked Questions
Do these fake flowers come with a pot?
No, you get two trailing petunia stems only, not a pot or planter. I used a pot I already had. Plan to add rock or a little dirt to anchor them, since nothing is included to weigh them down.
Will they really hold up outside in the sun and rain?
Yes, they’re made to be UV-resistant and fade-resistant for outdoor use. That’s the reason to pick these over generic fake flowers, which tend to wash out after one summer. They’re built to keep their color season after season outside.
Can I use them indoors instead?
Yes, they work indoors just fine. The UV protection is there for outdoor durability, so indoors you simply won’t need it. They’d look great in an entryway or on a shelf if that’s where you want the color.
Are the stems bendable so I can shape them?
You can move and arrange the stems, but there’s no wire inside. So you can reposition them and fan them out, but they won’t hold a sculpted shape the way a wired stem would. Think arranging, not bending permanently.
Can I split them into two pots?
Yes, you get two completely separate stems, so you can use them in two smaller pots. I kept both in one pot because it makes the arrangement really full. Splitting them is a good option if you want color in two spots.
How do I clean them?
A gentle wipe or a light rinse to knock off dust and pollen is all these need. There’s no watering or pruning at all. If they’ve been outside collecting debris, an occasional rinse keeps the colors looking fresh.
Do they look fake up close?
Not to the eye, only to the touch. Someone walking up on my porch wouldn’t guess they’re faux unless they felt the fabric. The silk construction and the movement in the breeze are what make them convincing from a normal viewing distance.
Are they good for a hanging basket or railing?
Yes, the trailing shape is made for exactly that. They spill and cascade, so they work draped over hooks, railings, or spilling out of a hanging basket. Anywhere you want vertical, trailing color, they fit.
